I first met Tracy Lynn Schafer when she was slinging beers in Hollywood. Over the course of a few months, we became best friends. I think what truly made us friends was her complete honesty over everything. She has this way of looking at life that is fascinating. She was born and raised a complete Hopeless Romantic. (Worse than being raised Catholic.) This romanticism has led her to live her life by her heart. She has learned to ignore her head, and just trust her heart. Although this causes much pain and heartache, it allows for a truthful existence.
These heartaches began at an early age. And out of her pain, her poetry was born. Since she ignores her conscious, the only way that she can wrap her head around any situation is to let the pen do the writing. Instead of trying to think about the situation, she writes about it. This produces these eloquent poems that speak wonders about her heart. At first, her poetry seems relatively simple. There is no structure, just chaos. But at second glance, double entendres and amazing plays on words start to appear. They drip pain, emotion, and truth. The depth of these poems can only give you a glimpse of the depth of Tracy Lynn Schafer's heart.
